How to Stop Auto-start in Skype

Skype automatically starts each time you start your computer. The Skype icon appears in your system tray, allowing you to receive calls and messages, and quickly place outgoing calls. If you don’t want Skype delaying your computer starting up and taking up resources by running in the background, you can disable the autostart setting from Skype’s Options window. This will also free up network resources because Skype also uses network resources when it runs in the background -- Skype’s peer-to-peer architecture uses your computer to help the network.
